How to play with the questions

The questions work on their own on a date or over text, but in a group they turn into a game: everyone takes turns answering, and if you'd rather not answer, you take a sip (or water).

    A question comes up and you answer it honestly. The more specific the answer, the better.

    Everyone else can ask one more question about your answer. That's where you really get to know someone.

How to ask good questions to get to know someone

The best questions are open-ended (you can't answer them with a yes or a no) and ask for a story: “What's the best trip you've ever taken?” gets you a lot further than “Do you like to travel?” And the most important part isn't the question: it's listening to the answer and following the thread.

So it doesn't feel like a job interview, take turns: you ask, then they ask. Start with the basic and fun questions, and save the deep ones for when there's some trust.
